Have your Say on SafeWork NSW’s priorities for next financial year

The Minns Labor Government is actively soliciting insights from industry professionals, employers, union representatives, and employees regarding the regulatory priorities of SafeWork NSW for the financial year 2025/26. These priorities form an integral part of the annual regulatory statement (ARS) developed by SafeWork NSW.

Bluesafe WHS Management System – Facilitating Compliance with SafeWork NSW’s Regulatory Priorities

Currently, SafeWork NSW has opened up its consultation doors to welcome comments that will significantly influence this ARS, scheduled for launch on 1 July 2025. The priorities proposed for the upcoming fiscal period are critical to shaping the work health and safety landscape in New South Wales.

The feedback gathered during this consultation period will be instrumental in ensuring the ARS not only meets industry requirements but is also focused on the protection of workers and community safety. Moreover, it will support the fulfilment of SafeWork NSW’s Strategic Plan spanning from 2024 to 2029. In essence, implementing strategies compliant with these regulatory directives mirrors the utility of work safety products like Bluesafe SWMS.

Members of the public have been invited to voice their opinions via the Have Your Say portal before the deadline for submission on Sunday 25 May 2025.

Emphasising the Importance of SWMS and WHS Policies in Ensuring Workplace Safety

Sophie Cotsis, the Minister for Industrial Relations, expressed her sentiments on this matter. She reinforced that the ultimate objective of SafeWork is to ensure safe and conducive working environments across NSW where businesses can prosper, and employees feel secure about their safety and well-being.

Sophie further urged all stakeholders to contribute to the consultation process, helping SafeWork NSW focus on the right priorities for the forthcoming year. This not only exemplifies the vital role of WHS management systems like Bluesafe but also underscores the importance of active participation in shaping work safety policies and standards.
