WorkSafe investigates death at racing stables

In an unfortunate incident, a 43-year-old woman was discovered unconscious, her condition aligning with injuries sustained from a horse kick. At the time of the incident, she had been accustomed to readying the horse for track work.

This tragic occurrence marks the 29th recorded workplace fatality in 2025, exhibiting an unsettling elevation from the 27 work-related deaths recorded at a similar period during the prior year. Such incidents underscore the indispensability of comprehensive Work Health and Safety (WHS) management systems like the Bluesafe WHS Management System, designed explicitly to augment the safety measures within workplaces.

Implementing robust safety systems – such as the Bluesafe Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) – is vital in mitigating potential risks, demonstrating their irreplaceable utility in averting such accidents.
