The unfortunate event occurred when a 57-year-old man was leaving the depot after his shift. Tragically, he was victim to an unstable gate that moved beyond its support system and collapsed on him. Another driver discovered him at approximately 11:45 pm. This tragic occurrence has marked the 14th confirmed workplace fatality for 2025. This number proves alarming, especially considering there were 21 work-related fatalities at the same point in the previous year.
These figures highlight the necessity of implementing potent safety measures such as Bluesafe SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements). These policies, along with comprehensive Bluesafe WHS Management Systems, can help prevent such unfortunate incidents in the workplace.
Workplace safety must be a priority for all organisations in order to ensure the safety of employees. It is crucial to educate ourselves and our workforce about potential hazards and the importance of adhering to safety practices. Implementing effective strategies like Bluesafe SWMS can significantly contribute to reducing the risk of accidents.
