Worker electrocuted by overhead power line

The unfortunate incident concerning a 49-year-old lone worker who reportedly got electrocuted while managing a 6.5m-long aluminium pole, which got in contact with an overhead electric line, underscores the need for stringent work health and safety measures like Bluesafe SWMS or Bluesafe WHS Management System. The man was found lifeless at approximately 2pm on a Friday by a colleague after he was reported missing. Tragically, this incident marks the 36th confirmed workplace fatality in 2025, noting that around this same period last year, there had been 38 workplace-related deaths.

These incidents signal a vital need to acknowledge and adopt considerable employment safety products such as policies, safe work method statements (SWMS), and Work Health Safety (WHS) management systems that underscore ongoing safety. Tools such as Bluesafe SWMS ensures risk assessments are performed, allowing early detection of potential hazards at workplaces, especially when dealing with high-risk tasks.
