Farmer dies in hospital after quad bike rollover

A 51-year-old farmer has died in hospital after a quad bike incident. His death is the fifth confirmed workplace fatality in 2026 and the third in agriculture.
The man is understood to have been operating a quad bike when it hit a rock and rolled.
He suffered serious injuries to his chest and arm and died in hospital on Friday.
WorkSafe investigators will assess whether any further action is needed.
The fatality brings the confirmed workplace death toll for 2026 to five, including three in agriculture. At the same point last year, six work-related deaths had been recorded.
