Safe Work Australia is encouraging workplaces to turn discussions from National Safe Work Month 2026 into practical improvements that continue beyond October.
The campaign’s final week, themed For all: Action across all workplaces, centres on keeping work health and safety (WHS) a priority throughout the year.
During the month, workplaces across Australia were encouraged to examine the importance of WHS, recognise health risks and consider the lasting effects of work-related harm. The campaign also prompted workplaces to explore support for workers now and in the future.
As the campaign ends, Safe Work Australia is encouraging workplaces to assess what they have learned and decide which practical improvements to pursue.
The concluding activities in the National Safe Work Month activity kit can help workplaces revisit discussions, assess commitments made during October and identify actions to continue after the campaign.
The agency highlighted improvements to processes, stronger consultation, action on workplace risks and better worker support as opportunities for change. Its closing message noted that even small actions can help make work safer and healthier.
