Safe Work Australia has unveiled a new online hub to centralise information, data and updates on the Australian Work Health and Safety Strategy 2023–2033, supporting businesses and PCBUs to strengthen their WHS management systems, policies and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).

Safe Work Australia has released a new digital hub designed to consolidate key information on the Australian Work Health and Safety Strategy 2023–2033 (the Strategy) and to report on national progress towards its targets.

The Strategy sets a shared national vision of safe and healthy work for all workers in Australia. It provides a framework to guide the coordinated efforts of Safe Work Australia, its Members, governments, industry and workers over the next decade. This includes national qualitative and action-based targets that allow stakeholders to track improvements in work health and safety performance over time.

The new digital hub serves as a central online location where duty holders, WHS professionals and workers can access up-to-date information about the Strategy, including how progress against key indicators is being measured and reported. This supports organisations to align their WHS management systems, policies and procedures with national priorities and to embed risk management into day-to-day operations.

Businesses looking to practically implement the Strategy’s objectives may also consider reviewing or updating their Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and WHS documentation to ensure they are current, task-specific and compliant with legislative requirements. Resources such as professionally prepared SWMS templates are available online to support this process, for example via specialist SWMS libraries.

By visiting the digital hub, PCBUs, health and safety representatives and workers can see how Safe Work Australia and its Members are monitoring outcomes under the Strategy and what actions are being taken nationally to reduce work-related fatalities, injuries and illnesses. The hub aims to promote continuous improvement and stronger WHS culture across all industries in Australia.
