Worker fatally crushed by falling animal feed bags

A 63-year-old man has died after three one-tonne bags of animal feed fell onto him. WorkSafe Victoria is investigating.
The man is understood to have been trying to repair a torn bag of animal feed at about 2.30pm when the incident occurred.
Three one-tonne bags stacked above the damaged bag fell, fatally crushing him.
The death brings the number of confirmed workplace fatalities in 2024 to 15, compared with 27 work-related deaths at the same point last year.
