Updated WHS guidance on family and domestic violence at work

Safe Work Australia has revised its Family and domestic violence at work information sheet to reflect changes to paid leave entitlements under the Fair Work Act 2009.
The update reflects changes to entitlements to paid family and domestic violence leave. Managing the workplace risks associated with family and domestic violence is complex and requires an appropriate, sensitive approach.
Family and domestic violence becomes a WHS risk when a perpetrator threatens, intimidates or carries out violence against a partner or family member at their workplace. This includes situations where the worker is working from home.
The information sheet guides persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs) on helping to provide workers with a safe environment and finding further advice. Information about the Fair Work Act changes is available on the Fair Work Ombudsman’s website.
