Roofer dies after falling through fragile roof

A 55-year-old roofer has died in hospital after falling approximately eight metres through a fragile roof surface onto a concrete floor.
The fall is understood to have occurred at about 10.30am.
The man suffered serious head injuries and subsequently died in hospital.
His death brings the confirmed workplace fatality count for 2025 to 41. At the same point last year, 41 work-related deaths had been recorded.
