Safe Work Australia releases silica dust risk resources

Safe Work Australia has published resources to help employers working with silica-containing materials manage workplace risks. They support the recently released model Code of Practice on respirable crystalline silica.
The new resources include templates, a checklist and case studies to assist employers working with materials that contain silica.
Employers can also access silica fact sheets and infographics on Safe Work Australia’s website. The model Code of Practice, Managing risks of respirable crystalline silica in the workplace, explains how to comply with the model WHS Regulations when managing silica dust risks.
To receive future silica updates, employers can subscribe to Safe Work Australia’s mailing list and select the occupational lung diseases option.
