Quarry operator dies after truck rolls backwards

A quarry operator has died after apparently being crushed by a truck that rolled backwards while he was working underneath it. WorkSafe Victoria is investigating.
The sole trader is believed to have been working beneath a truck attached to a trailer when the truck rolled backwards.
He was crushed and dragged about 40 metres. He was found at about 10:20am.
WorkSafe is investigating the incident. The death brings the number of confirmed workplace fatalities in 2025 to 18, compared with 24 work-related deaths at the same point last year.
