Entertainment Velocity Pty Ltd, trading as Funtopia Maribyrnong, has been charged following a serious fall that injured a child.

The company faces three charges under section 23(1) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The charges concern alleged failures to ensure people other than employees were not exposed to health and safety risks.

WorkSafe alleges the company failed to reduce the risk of uncontrolled falls, so far as was reasonably practicable, through adequate inspection, maintenance and replacement of climbing safety equipment where necessary.

A filing hearing is scheduled at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 28 March 2024.
