New WHS reporting tools replace injury frequency rate calculator

10 Mar 2025•BlueSafe Team•Source: Safe Work Australia

Safe Work Australia launched new WHS data reporting tools in December to support more accurate assessment, measurement and reporting of WHS performance. The Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) calculator is scheduled to be retired in March 2025.

The new workers’ compensation injury frequency rate dashboard draws on data available only through Safe Work Australia’s national workers’ compensation dataset.

Users can filter the dashboard’s data by industry, occupation, injury type and severity.

The LTIFR calculator will be removed from the data website following the development of more holistic data and reporting tools.

Saved links to the LTIFR calculator webpage should be replaced with links to the new dashboard and WHS data reporting tools.

Users who need help navigating the new tools can contact StatsOnline@swa.gov.au.
