WorkCover launches resources to help employers manage mental injuries

WorkCover Queensland has released new videos and factsheets to help employers manage work-related mental injuries and support workers’ recovery.

The launch comes as workplace mental injuries are increasing and employers can find them difficult to navigate.

Research shows employers have a crucial role in recovery. Workers who feel supported by their employer are up to five times more likely to return to work after an injury and achieve positive outcomes.

The first four videos and factsheets are available on WorkCover’s Mental injury essentials webpage. They cover topics including what constitutes a workplace mental injury and how offering suitable duties can benefit a business.

WorkCover plans to release further resources over the next few months to help employers support injured workers and their safe return to work.
