Changes to NSW explosives laws commence on 1 September 2024, affecting existing licence holders and anyone considering applying for an explosives licence.

The changes amend the Explosives Act 2003 and replace the Explosives Regulation 2013 with the Explosives Regulation 2024.

The amended Act and replacement Regulation introduce changes aimed at improving the safe management, handling and transport of explosives. SafeWork NSW encourages people to familiarise themselves with the new requirements.

SafeWork NSW says its publications will be updated as it transitions to the new legislation. Anyone with questions can contact the regulator on 13 10 50.
