Feedback sought on proposed exposure limits for nine chemicals

Safe Work Australia has opened consultation on proposed workplace exposure limits for nine chemicals, seeking feedback on their potential economic, social and health impacts.

Stakeholders can lodge submissions online through Safe Work Australia’s Consultation Hub until 11.59pm (AEDT) on Sunday, 8 December 2024.

The consultation seeks information about the impacts of the proposed exposure limit for each chemical. Safe Work Australia is encouraging submissions from anyone with an interest in one or more of the nine chemicals.

Feedback will help inform an impact analysis to be submitted to WHS ministers, who will decide on the proposed changes.

The existing limits for the nine chemicals, as set out in the workplace exposure standards list, will continue to apply until WHS ministers have made a decision on each proposed change.
