New WHS guidance on communicating with migrant and multicultural workers

25 Nov 2024•BlueSafe Team•Source: Safe Work Australia

Safe Work Australia has developed an information sheet to help employers communicate with migrant and multicultural workers about work health and safety, alongside a residential aged care case study.

Employers are responsible for providing a workplace that is healthy and safe for every worker.

The new information sheet outlines employers’ duties and workers’ rights. It also covers ways to manage work health and safety risks for migrant and multicultural workers.

The residential aged care case study offers practical examples of communication and consultation with migrant and multicultural workers in that setting.

Other resources listed include work health and safety information for migrant and culturally and linguistically diverse workers, a migrant workers resource and a language hub.
