Farmer, 84, dies in fall from tractor

WorkSafe Victoria is investigating the death of an 84-year-old farmer who fell from a tractor while spraying an orchard.
The man is understood to have been using a trailer sprayer weighing about 3.5 tonnes to spray the orchard.
He is understood to have lost control of the tractor as he travelled downhill.
The death brings Victoria’s confirmed workplace fatality toll for 2024 to 30, including six deaths in agriculture. At the same point last year, 56 work-related deaths had been recorded.
