Safe Work Australia has developed a guide and step-by-step template to help businesses plan an injured or ill worker’s return to work.
Developed in partnership with the Behavioural Economics Team of the Australian Government (BETA), the resources support a collaborative approach to return to work planning with an injured or ill worker.
The guide offers practical advice on supporting workers as they prepare to return. It is intended for anyone responsible for developing a return to work plan, with a particular focus on small and medium businesses.
Safe Work Australia acknowledges that navigating the planning process for the first time can be challenging. While the resources are designed to help meet obligations across Australia, it advises users to check the requirements in their state or territory.
