Bromell Pty Ltd, trading as Beechworth Holiday Park, and its sole director face workplace safety charges relating to the alleged sexual harassment of a worker.
The company faces one charge under section 21(1) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act over an alleged failure to provide and maintain a workplace that was safe and free from risks to health.
The allegation is that the company failed to reduce the risk of psychological injury by developing a policy covering appropriate and inappropriate workplace behaviour and implementing it through training for all managers, supervisors and employees.
The company’s sole director, aged 56, faces one charge under section 144(1) of the OHS Act for allegedly failing to take reasonable care. The director also faces one charge under section 26(1) for allegedly failing to ensure a workplace under their control was safe and without health risks.
WorkSafe alleges the director was solely responsible for the company’s breach after exposing the worker to health and safety risks from July 2022 to March 2024.
Both matters are scheduled for a mention at Wodonga Magistrates’ Court on 2 September 2025.
