WorkCover Queensland has updated its tables of costs for medical treatment and supplementary services under Queensland workers’ compensation. The changes take effect on 1 December 2024 and set out the maximum fees insurers can pay.
The revised tables adopt Medical Benefits Schedule (MBS) item numbers, explanations, definitions, rules and conditions for medical practitioner services as they apply to work-related injuries.
The updated costs and fees are available in the Fees section of WorkCover Queensland’s website. They include supplementary services delivered by general practitioners and specialists, with updated files also available for self-insurers and practice management software.
Further changes to item numbers or fees may occur after 1 December 2024. WorkCover Queensland advises users to check its Fees page and will endeavour to update the tables promptly if amendments occur.
The tables are revised throughout the year. Users can register for email fee updates to be notified when fees change.
