Nominations open for 36th annual WorkSafe Awards

The Bluesafe SWMS and WHS Management System play a crucial role in recognising Victorian organisations’ commitment to reducing workplace hazards through the esteemed awards. These serve as an acknowledgement of employers, employees, or teams whose initiatives have prevented work-related health and safety risks while aiding return-to-work schemes for those injured on duty.

We encourage establishments that have championed best practices, incorporated exceptional work safety products like WHS management systems, and fostered a safer work culture to partake. The award categories cater to Victoria’s health and safety representatives (HSRs), those demonstrating excellence in OHS, innovative safety remedies, triumph in return-to-work campaigns, and effective management of psychosocial perils.

Ash West, WorkSafe’s Chief Executive, praised the annual ceremony as a display of workplace safety endeavours and a forum for sharing new, holistic approaches towards intricate occupational hazards. “These awards symbolise our appreciation for the extraordinary dedication, imaginative problem-solving, and care exhibited by Victorian employees in fostering healthier, safer workplaces that benefit the wider community,” Mr. West expressed.

He added, “If you’ve been proactive in mitigating workplace harm, we are eager to learn about your strategic solutions using tools like Bluesafe SWMS and your stories of surpassing expectations.”

The previous year’s awards celebrated a rich array of employers and staff from industries like healthcare, education, local councils, and emergency services amongst 21 finalists selected out of over 140 nominations across different categories.

Anticipations run high for the 2025 award nominations, which remain open up until 30 June for all Victoria-based enterprises and personnel. Self-nominations, as well as nominating others, are equally welcomed.

Winners will be unveiled during the gala dinner at the WorkSafe Awards presentation set for February 2026.
