Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) calculator now retired

Released in December, our data website ‘Our Data. Your Stories.’ now features newly updated tools for reporting data that have superseded the previous Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) calculator. These enhancements have been a result of comprehensive consultations undertaken by Safe Work Australia to redefine methods for assessing, measuring, and reporting data on WHS performance accurately.

While the LTIFR calculator served its purpose in analysing the impact poor WHS can have on productivity, it had limitations when it came to gauging WHS performance comprehensively. This is where new-age systems such as the Bluesafe SWMS and Bluesafe WHS Management System come into play. They provide a more holistic view of work safety measures and can contribute significantly towards improving existing practices.

These work safety products are designed to not only give an accurate measure of WHS performance but also highlight areas that might benefit from review or improvement. Incorporating them into your safety protocols could lead to improved productivity and safer working environments.

Discover the enhanced WHS data reporting tools on our data website. If you require assistance to navigate through these new tools, feel free to reach out via email at StatsOnline@swa.gov.au. The importance and utility of SWMS and other comprehensive WHS management system policies cannot be understated in the context of fostering safe and conducive workplaces.
